Rachelle Wilson

Georgia-based writer Rachelle Wilson reflects on experiences of southern womanhood. From planning a Covid Era wedding and living with an auto-immune disease to nerding out over books and advocating for social justice, Wilson shares the ups and downs of navigating modern life as a millennial.

Currently writing for Macon Magazine, Wilson turns to blogging to sharpen her skills and express her passions.

Though she finds herself wearing many hats, writing about what she loves over a cup of hot tea will always be her preferred way to pass the time.

Marquelle Young

Marquelle Young is an award-winning Director and Producer. She has directed several films, that have gone on to win awards in the film festival circuit and is currently working on her fifth production for this year. She has over a decade of work as a professional actor and coach, having trained at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, and with various professionals over the years including the likes of Tony-winning Director, Kenny Leon and Emmy-winning Director, Mary Lou Belli to name a few.

As a director, she is known for her ability to connect with actors and bring the vulnerable work out of them they never knew existed, instilling empathy in them and the audience as a whole. Marquelle has a passion for all aspects of the arts and works toward growth and honoring the power of storytelling. She believes empathy will save the world.

 
 

Destiny Mojica

My name is Destiny, the Savannah native and nomadic southerner on a path to seeing the world and owning it! The Nomadic Southerner blog is still home to trips and travels around the country and world, but also captures the adventure that can be explored right here in the 912.

Brooke Woodard Henson

Brooke Henson is a writer and educator currently living in central Georgia, with her husband, Jack. From a young age, Brooke was naturally drawn to books and storytelling and her literary passions led her to earn degrees in English and library media. She believes that words are one of the most powerful forces available for connection, innovation, and self-discovery. When not writing content or working as a school librarian, you will probably find her reading, cooking, traveling, trying to do yoga with varying success, or browsing the candy aisles for something to fuel her sour addiction. She writes because she has a lot to say, but doesn’t like to talk that much.


Nina Lopez

Nina Lopez is based in Jacksonville, Florida. After years of working internationally in capacity building, she returned to the states to lend her expertise to the social sector.

Nina loves dominating the tennis courts, exploring Jacksonville on foot or by bike, and acquainting herself with its dynamic food scene.

Shawn Audrey Vanness

Shawn Audrey Vanness earned her BA in English Literature from Miami University in 2009. After which, she taught English in China and Thailand. From 2015 to 2017 and served as a youth development adviser with the Peace Corps Morocco in Zaouia Ben Hmida, a town of 500. Her onsite work included establishing cross-cultural programs, developing a school library, serving on the Gender and Development Committee (GAD), and conducting community outreach in Moroccan Arabic. She currently serves as the Communications Specialist in the Library at her Alma mater, Miami University.
